Three Oaks Community Garden - Where good things are happening! Check our Education Schedule.
The 2013 season is here!

We're in our third year!  Summer is on it's way!

The River Valley Elementary School children, pre-school through 5th grade, are planting their heirloom tomato plants into the garden grow tunnel.  Each class planted a different heirloom seed and took their individual plant home around Mother's Day.  Now the remaining ones are being planted in their hoop house in the community garden where everyone gets to see and taste them.

Our first DIY scheduled for Wednesday, April 17 ended early due to rain but we returned and finished building potato growing bins on Thursday, April 25th, and several days since.  So far nearly a dozen have been build and a few more are in the process.  We'll be tracking how many potatoes are planted and how many are harvested.

DIY Saturday's (No cost, registration required):
  • June 1, 10:30am at Three Oaks Twp. Library will be making a hummingbird feed using a recycled bottle.
  • June 8, 10:00am at St John's Parish Hall will be making strawberry jam.
  • August 3 or 10, 10:00am at St John's Parish Hall will be using local produce in meals, canning and freezing
Check "What's Happening" for future details.  Class sizes are limited so get registered soon.

Pick up a sandwich, cup of coffee and sit in our entry arbor or on our garden benches, relax
and enjoy nature at work.  Follow-up with a visit through our town, read the historic building plaques to understand why we're so proud of our community and its' historic past!

We hope you will visit our garden and participate in our events. You'll find us in southwest Michigan Harbor Country. Take I-94 exit 4, east on US12 to Three Oaks, Michigan.
